Ghana: Tariff decrease

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has approved bigger-than-expected tariff reductions of 17.5% for residential customers and 30% for non-residential clients. The PURC said it had approved the cuts with effect from 15 March “after extensive stakeholders’ consultations, detailed technical analysis of utility tariff proposals and consideration of inputs and concerns of consumers”.The PURC received tariff proposals from Ghana Grid Company Limited, Electricity Company of Ghana, Northern Electricity Distribution Company, Enclave Power Company Limited and Ghana Water Company Limited, a statement said.
