Issue 237 - 10 Aug 2012 | 2 minute read

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has agreed a senior loan of €57.5m ($69.9m) through its private sector window to support the design, construction and operation of two hydroelectric projects in Gabon. Both projects will be run-of-river, with the larger 70MW Chutes de l’Impératrice built in Ngounie province and the 52MW FE2 on the Okano River in the north of the country. The AfDB is also lead debt arranger among the development finance institutions.
