While operators, investors, and potential new sector participants discussed emerging opportunities at CWC’s Kurdistan-Iraq Oil and Gas Conference in Erbil on 3 December, the chief executive of one of the most high-profile international oil companies (IOCs) in the country was taking the witness stand at the Commercial Court in London, in a case which has the potential to embarrass and frustrate both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP).
