GCC/Iran: Pakistan strives to balance regional military ties

Pakistan armed forces personnel have been active around the region in March, as Islamabad tries to maintain the delicate balance in ties with Iran and the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) states. Pakistan Navy warships docked in the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas on 12 March on a three-day goodwill visit, which included joint exercises with their Iranian counterparts. On 13 March, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee chairman General Zubair Mahmood led a delegation to Manama for talks with senior Bahraini officials including National Guard Commander Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
