France finally sells Rafale jets to Qatar

Qatar has at last agreed to buy 24 Rafale fighter jets from France, in a long-awaited deal worth an estimated €6.3bn ($7.1bn). Emir Sheikh Tamim and French President François Hollande witnessed the signing of contracts – which give Qatar an option on 12 more planes and include missiles and training – in Doha on 4 May.
