Faisal Bin Bandar: a steady hand in Riyadh
Issue 996

| 4 minute read
It has been six months since Prince Faisal Bin Bandar Bin Abdelaziz was appointed governor of Riyadh, a post seen as one of the jewels in the crown for the Al-Saud. His appointment – part of King Salman Bin Abdelaziz’s wide-ranging reshuffle on taking office – came after a period that saw three governors in as many years, some of whom suffered from ill health or were seen as overly ambitious: Prince Sattam Bin Abdelaziz (November 2011-February 2013), Prince Khalid Bin Bandar Bin Abdelaziz (Faisal’s brother, February 2013-June 2014), and Prince Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Abdelaziz (June 2014-January 2015).
