Ethiopia’s Tulu Moye steams ahead despite industry jitters

Ethiopia’s government has insisted it will chart its own course after facing criticism following the exit of the World Bank Group from the Scaling Solar programme last September. The incident served to highlight issues at other private sector projects in the country, such as the renegotiation of terms with Enel Green Power and Orchid Business Group’s 100MW Metehara solar PV project, which was awarded following a tender process backed by the United States’ Power Africa in October 2017.
