West Africans offer new approaches in bid to revive exploration
Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia and Sierra Leone are all inviting bids for their open acreage in an effort to revive exploration impetus. Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Renewable Energy is seeking expressions of interest (EoIs) for five blocks in shallow water off the eastern coast. Technical adviser in the petroleum ministry Ambroise Niamien said the blocks had been selected to spearhead the country’s new promotion effort because they were in mostly shallow water, with good quality data, close to infrastructure and near existing discoveries.
