Emperor Naruhito: Gulfis turn out for enthronement

Ruling family members from across the Gulf joined representatives of some 195 governments and international organisations for the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito of Japan, held at the Imperial Place in Tokyo on 22 October. The most senior Gulf guest was Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani. Bahrain sent Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, as well as finance and national economy minister Sheikh Salman Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa. The Kuwaiti delegation was led by former prime minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah.
