Emir’s grand-nephew, MPs in latest batch of critics jailed in Kuwait

A string of prison sentences have been handed down to members of the Kuwait National Assembly (MPs) and government critics over the past few weeks, according to local newspaper reports. A member of the royal family is included on the list of those detained: Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Sabah, a grandson of Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s late half-brother Sheikh Abdullah al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
