Egypt: Dana Gas closes plant for maintenance, upgrade

Sharjah-based Dana Gas has shut down its El Wastani gas plant in the Nile Delta for a maintenance and upgrade programme to increase output by 25%. The plant shut on 28 February for two weeks for work to expand its production capacity by 40mcf/d to 200mcf/d, or 6,650 boe/d. The additional capacity will allow increased production from the Salama/Tulip, Faraskur and South Abu El Naga fields via a new pipeline tie-in. In 2013, Dana Gas’ production in Egypt averaged 36,700 boe/d.
