Egypt: AMEA Power breaks through with major wind, solar PPAs

The wind and solar power purchase agreements (PPAs) signed by Dubai-headquartered AMEA Power on 10 December are a hard-earned recompense for the developer’s long and sometimes arduous slog to close a major deal in Egypt. As well as placing AMEA among the leading sponsors of renewable energy projects anywhere in Africa, they also demonstrate Cairo’s willingness to close deals with committed investors – providing the price is right.
