Egypt: Government clears more arrears

The government has made a new round of debt payments to oil companies, transferring $350m to BG Group, $60m to Dana Gas and $15m to Circle Oil.The latest payment reduces Egypt’s debt to BG to around $920m, the company said. “While the Group has been impacted by the reduction of LNG exports from Egypt, the company continues to investigate options for increasing the supply of gas and is working with the government on resolving the outstanding receivable balance,” a statement said.
