Issue 295 - 27 Feb 2015 | 1 minute read

State power and water utility Régie de Production et de Distribution d’Eau et d’Electricité (Regideso) has invited prequalification applications by 31 March for the construction of the 32MW Jiji and 17MW Mulembwe hydropower projects in southern Burundi. According to the tender notice published on 23 February, Regideso expects to launch a formal tender procedure in June. The two stations, on the Jiji and Mulembwe rivers, will be located about 3.75km apart and will almost double Burundi’s installed capacity.
