British Army chief tours region

British Army chief of staff General Sir David Richards – who will leave his post in July – has held a series of meetings on military co-operation in the region. On 12 April, he met Qatari heir apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the next day he was in Saudi Arabia to see defence minister and Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdelaziz Al-Saud and, on 14 April, he travelled to Abu Dhabi for talks with his UAE counterpart, General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al-Rumaithi.
