Bahrain: Salman Bin Hamad’s Formula 1 diplomacy

Crown Prince, deputy supreme commander and first deputy prime minister Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa was on hand to greet visiting dignitaries at the Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit on 8 April. Among those attending the race – which was won by German driver Sebastian Vettel from Scuderia Ferrari – were UAE interior minister Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and chairman of the UAE State Security Department Lieutenant General Sheikh Khalid Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
