Bahrain: Rajab to face trial again

Issue 979 - 17 Oct 2014 | 2 minute read

Nabeel Rajab, arguably the most recognisable campaigner for human rights in Bahrain, was detained on 2 October for posting comments on Twitter deemed insulting to the interior ministry and the Bahrain defence forces, and has remained in custody pending a hearing scheduled for the Lower Criminal Court on 19 October. If found guilty, he could face another lengthy prison sentence.
