Bahrain: Rajab released after four years in jail

Bahrain Centre for Human Rights president Nabeel Rajab was released on 9 June in a surprise move after four years in detention. He will serve the rest of his sentence by working in the social affairs department of the Capital governorate – he started there on 14 June – under a 2017 law that allows custodial sentences to be replaced with alternative punishments.
