Bahrain: King Hamad visits India

King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa began a state visit to India on 18 February, his first official visit to the country which has around 350,000 nationals working in Bahrain. The three-day visit was to include meetings with Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other senior Indian officials. The king’s delegation, which included foreign minister Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa and chairman of the supreme council for youth and sports Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad, was welcomed on arrival at Palam Air Force Base in New Delhi by the minister of state for external affairs E Ahamed.
