BBC revives Senegal oil controversy

BP has described as “inaccurate and exaggerated” claims that businessman Frank Timis is set to receive $9bn-$12bn in royalties from the Greater Tortue/Ahmeyim gas project, but a BBC report has revived controversy over the role of Timis and presidential brother Aliou Sall in Senegal’s oil and gas industry.The BBC’s Panorama investigative programme based its 3 June report on a leaked hard drive containing documents relating to Timis’ businesses.
