Senior members of the Gulf Co-operation Council’s royal families made rare visits to the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott to attend the 27th Arab Summit on 25 July. On the agenda were the usual issues of the Arab-Israeli conflict, the crises in Yemen, Syria and Libya, and Iranian interference in Arab countries. Two heads of state were among the GCC attendees: Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.
