Amid sabotage plots and financial woes Bahrain plots O&G infrastructure expansion

The 10 November explosion at an oil pipeline near the village of Buri, 15km from Manama, caused no causalities, but it did force the temporary suspension of Saudi crude flows through Bahrain. The incident was quickly seized on by officials as being the handiwork of Iranian-backed forces. Interior minister Sheikh Rashid Bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa deemed the blast the “latest example of a terrorist act carried out by people in direct contact with, and under instructions from, Iran”. Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Bahram Qassemi dismissed such claims as “baseless and cheap”.
