Algeria: New head for Sonelgaz

Issue 349 - 30 Jun 2017 | 1 minute read

Mohammed Arkab has been named as chief executive (PDG) of state utility Société Nationale de l’Electricité et du Gaz (Sonelgaz). He replaces Mustapha Guitouni, who in late May was appointed energy and mines minister in a government reshuffle that saw the unexpected sacking from the ministry of another former Sonelgaz PDG, Noureddine Bouterfa. Arkab was head of Sonelgaz’s specialist engineering subsidiary Compagnie de l’Engineering de l’Electricité et du Gaz.
