Tanzania: New Zanzibar interconnector inaugurated

A new 132kV interconnector from Tanzania to Zanzibar Island was officially switched on on 10 April. The interconnector, part of the Millennium Challenge Account Tanzania (MCA-T) energy project, is capable of transferring 100MW of power to Zanzibar, more than double the transmission capacity of the existing interconnector.
