Senegal: Petronas farms into Total’s ROP

Issue 375 - 31 Aug 2018 | 1 minute read

Total has farmed down 30% in the Rufisque Offshore Profond (ROP) Block to Petronas, despite ongoing legal action by African Petroleum, which claims it still has rights to the block. Total will retain the operatorship and a 60% stake, while state oil company Petrosen holds the remaining 10%. Total recently acquired 3D seismic over the block, which is undergoing interpretation, and Petronas said that once a prospect had been identified and evaluated, exploration drilling was planned for 2019.
