The UK’s BAE Systems sold powerful surveillance technology to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Algeria and Morocco in the wake of the 2011 Arab Spring and the technology has since been implicated in the disappearance of political opponents in those countries, according to a report by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on 15 June, based on an investigation by BBC Arabic and Danish newspaper Dagbladet Information.
