Qatar: Khalid Bin Hamad US lawsuit allegations

Issue 1106 - 03 Jul 2020 | 2 minute read

Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Thani, a half-brother of Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad, has been accused of some disturbing crimes in a lawsuit filed in mid-June by six former employees in Massachusetts. The allegations include that the sheikh beat to death his Indian chauffeur in a desert location, seriously abused staff including asking them to murder motor racing rivals in the US, withheld pay and refused permission to let them leave Qatar. The 137-page lawsuit follows one filed by two of the six former employees last September, when they accused him of plotting a murder.
