Nigeria: Geregu II power plant inaugurated

Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan officially commissioned the 424MW Geregu II gas-fired power plant on 3 October. The plant is the latest of the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) facilities to be commissioned. The 504MW Sapele was commissioned between August 2011 and October 2012, and the 675MW Olorunsogo was commissioned in 2012, but has not been generating due to a lack of gas.
