| 1 minute read
Brazilian junior HRT Participações em Petróleo has drilled a second dry well in its exploration programme offshore Namibia. The Murombe-1 well in the Walvis Basin was drilled to test the resource potential of basin floor fan turbidites. The Transocean Marianas will now move 635km south to drill the Moosehead Prospect in the northern Orange Basin. The first well in the programme, Wingat, was non-commercial, although samples of light oil were recovered (AE 255/12). Repsol plans to begin drilling the Welwitschia-1 well in the Walvis Basin in mid-February using the Rowan Renaissance rig.
