Namibia: Oranto seeks farm-out

Issue 263 - 19 Oct 2013 | 1 minute read

With confidence in Namibia’s offshore potential boosted by Tullow Oil’s recent farm-in, Nigeria’s Oranto Petroleum is offering a substantial stake and the operatorship of its Ondjou permit in the Walvis Basin. The permit covers blocks 2011B and 2111A, immediately to the east of Oranto’s Block 2010B, and to the west of Tullow’s new licence (AE 261/14). Only 20% of the permit is covered by 3D seismic, but this has identified four structures with estimated reserves of 1bn-1.5bn barrels.
