Namibia: HRT spuds Wingat well

Issue 251 - 05 Apr 2013 | 1 minute read

Brazil’s HRT Participações em Petróleo has launched its planned drilling programme, spudding the Wingat-1 well on a licence in the Walvis Basin. The Transocean Marianas semisubmersible is drilling the well in 1,034 metres of water to test the resource potential of the Albian-aged carbonate platform. These reservoirs are expected to be encountered at approximately 3,950 metres below sea level, and the well will be drilled to a projected total depth of 4,100 metres.
