Denver-based DaVita Inc on 20 March filed a complaint against the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Washington for non-payment of services. DaVita is a large kidney care company (with $14.7bn turnover for 2016), which also has a presence in the Gulf; it opened a new dialysis clinic in Riyadh in January. DaVita said that since 2004 it had provided dialysis services to Kuwaiti nationals while they were in the United States.
