John Kerry tours Gulf

US secretary of state John Kerry visited the Gulf again in late June, stopping in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. He was in Qatar on 22 and 23 June, shortly before Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani’s abdication, and had meetings scheduled with Sheikh Hamad, then heir apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad, and then foreign minister and prime minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim (HBJ). It was his second trip to Qatar as secretary of state.
