Ian Henderson dies

British colonial officer Colonel Ian Henderson, known as the Butcher of Bahrain for the part he played in establishing Bahrain’s repressive internal security policies, has died. Henderson spent more than 30 years as head of the General Directorate for State Security Investigations in Bahrain, and was seen as close to the Al-Khalifa, especially prime minister Khalifa Bin Salman.
