A smattering of Gulf royals were drawn to the Swiss Alps in January to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos from 17-20 January. Qataris were most prominent, including economy and commerce minister Sheikh Ahmed Bin Jassim Bin Mohammed Al-Thani and Qatar Investment Authority chief executive Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al-Thani. Sheikh Ahmed was busy, reporting talks with Saudi commerce and investment minister Majid Al-Qasabi, and counterparts from Argentina, Georgia, India, the Netherlands and UK.
