Following US secretary of state John Kerry’s Gulf tour in March, the Gulf headed to Washington in April. First up was Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Zayed, who had a working lunch with President Barack Obama on 16 April. The UAE is seen as one of the US’ up-and-coming regional allies and bilateral trade has swelled from around $4.5bn in 2002 to $24.8bn in 2012.
