ICA finds rise in infrastructure finance commitments, but implementation patchy

Reports of significantly increased commitments for energy and other projects across the continent have been given substance by the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA) annual report, unveiled in Cape Town on 25 November. The ICA reports that, for the second year running, there was a significant rise in commitments and disbursements for energy, transport, water and information and communications technology (ICT) in 2013, as reported by ICA members and from research by the ICA Secretariat into other public and private sector funding flows.
