The US government has committed to releasing more details of its drone programme in the coming weeks, potentially offering a greater insight into the combat zones in Yemen, as well as well as other theatres for US intervention including Afghanistan, Pakistan and Somalia. According to one independent observer, the London-based Bureau of Investigative Journalism, there have been at least 113-133 confirmed US drone strikes in Yemen since 2002, killing between 514 and 747 people, including 65-101 civilians and eight or nine children.
