Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, the head of the Houthi group that has taken over much of Yemen, said on 15 March that the group was engaged in indirect talks with Saudi Arabia. “Our contacts with Saudi Arabia have not stopped and indirect contacts took place during the last two days,” Abdulmalik Al-Houthi said, according to Yemen’s state news agency Saba. He said the talks affirmed a mutual desire to re-establish bilateral relations based on respect, equality and non-interference in each other’s affairs.
