Walid Juffali: more than just a playboy

Saudi billionaire Walid Bin Ahmed Juffali died from cancer in Zurich, Switzerland on 20 July, aged only 61. His passing earned obituaries in the British press not so much for his substantial business dealings as for his epic divorce proceedings – which continued into his final illness with an order to pay his ex-wife Christina Estrada £75m ($98.5m) in maintenance to meet what a UK judge agreed were the former model’s “reasonable needs”.
