UAE: Targeting Qatar

One interesting aspect of the UAE’s relationship with public relations firms has been its recent association with an outfit called the Camstoll Group, a consulting company incorporated in California on 26 November 2012. Camstoll got a passing mention in a 7 September story in The New York Times, which explored the string of recent accusations that Qatar is the hub of terrorist financing networks and suggested these might in part be fuelled by other countries in the region – including Saudi Arabia and the UAE – seeking to damage Qatar’s reputation by portraying it as “the godfather of terrorists”.
