UAE: Taliban meets government in Dubai

Representatives of the Taliban met Afghan government officials in Dubai during the first week of June, sources with knowledge of the meeting told GSN. Few details leaked out of the meeting – which was reportedly organised by Pugwash, a peace-making group, and which was understood to be closely monitored by the UAE authorities. Afghan news agency TOLOnews called talks “constructive” and cited a source who said follow-up discussions were likely to take place in Qatar in July.
