UAE: Rights activist detained

Rights groups have called for the release of Emirati academic and rights activist Nasser Bin Ghaith, who was arrested in Abu Dhabi on 18 August and is being held at an undisclosed location. Ghaith, who was freed in 2011 by presidential pardon, has lectured at the Abu Dhabi branch of the Sorbonne University. Human Rights Watch has demanded that the UAE authorities immediately reveal his wherabouts.
