UAE: Nigerian graft crackdown

Nigerian officials are working to exploit the opportunity to pursue politicians and business people implicated in the government’s crackdown on corruption. A ranges of legal agreements were signed with UAE authorities during President Muhammadu Buhari’s mid-January visit to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, when he met Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan (MBZ) and other senior officials. Lagos-based Sahara Reporters subsequently said Buhari had given Nigerian diplomats in UAE until end-March to compile a list of politically exposed Nigerians with properties in the emirates.
