Taqa Maroc: Alstom service deal for Moroccan IPP

Casablanca Bourse-listed Taqa Maroc – majority-owned by Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (Taqa) and formerly known as Jorf Lasfar Electricity Company (JLEC) – has signed an eight-year service deal with Alstom, which will supply parts and maintain the Jorf Lasfar plant’s four-by-350MW steam turbines. Meanwhile, a 13 October general assembly meeting approved JLEC’s rebranding, and named Abdelaziz Abdelrahman Mubarak Alhemaidi as president of Taqa Maroc’s supervisory board (replacing Carl Sheldon) and Ahmed Khalifa Mohammed Obaid Almehairi as deputy president (after Frank Perez stood down).
