South Africa: NDB loan for Eskom transmission lines

The Brics Development Bank, now renamed the New Development Bank (NDB), on 15 April announced that it had agreed a $180m loan for Eskom to support the construction of new transmission lines and renewable energy projects. Eskom told African Energy that it was negotiating the terms of the loan with NDB. Loans totalling $811m were approved from Brics member countries at the first meeting of the board of directors in January.
