Senegal: Cairn appraises SNE discovery

Issue 315 - 14 Jan 2016 | 1 minute read

Cairn Energy has successfully tested the SNE-2 appraisal well on the Sangomar Offshore Block and will now move the rig to complete the SNE-3 well. The Edinburgh-based company said a drill stem test over a 12-metre interval had flowed at around 8,000 b/d, confirming the high deliverability of the principal reservoir in the SNE-2 well. A second test over a 15-metre interval of “relatively low-quality” heterolithic pay had flowed at about 1,000 b/d, “confirming that these reservoirs are able to produce at viable rates and thus make a material contribution to resource volumes”, Cairn said.
