SaudiLeaks: reaction around the region

As might be expected, newspapers in the Gulf gave only modest coverage to the Saudi cables released by WikiLeaks (see main story), with many merely reporting their existence, and the Saudi government reaction. Most Arabic-language Gulf papers focused on the general implications of the leaks rather than their content, saying they revealed nothing new or negative. In Saudi daily Al-Jazirah, columnist Nasser Al-Sirami went so far as to say the cables showed how much the government cares for its citizens and seeks to help them abroad.
