Although they must be read with caution, given uncertainty as to the authenticity of all the leaked documents, the following are points of interest among the cables already released:YEMEN: In a cable to Prince Saud Al-Faisal in late 2012, Saudi ambassador to Yemen Ali Ibn Mohammed Al-Hamdan said he had information from various sources that Qatar had paid large sums of money to cause chaos, including $250m to Sheikh Hamid Al-Ahmar – a member of Sunni Islamist party Al-Islah – to help him in his efforts to sabotage the 21 February elections and rouse resistance in the security and military forces.
