A Saudi prince, identified in Lebanese and international media as Abdelmohsen Bin Walid Bin Abdelmohsen Bin Abdelaziz, was among a group arrested in late October following the largest drug seizure ever made at Beirut airport. The group was allegedly attempting to smuggle some two tonnes of Captagon pills and some cocaine. A Lebanese judicial source told AFP the prince and nine others had been charged with drug trafficking. The prince may be a grandson of Prince Abdelmohsin, who was interior minister for a short period in the 1960s before joining his brother Talal as one of the ‘free princes’ in Cairo. He later became governor of Medina, serving in that position for 20 years before he died in 1985.
